November 2011 Featured Artist: Kimberly Turner
Kim is a self-taught artist whose work is a whimsical twist of mixed media folk art. Though her painting styles may vary, her love for color is always evident. Kim’s hope is to tickle the imaginations of people of all ages with her work. She lives in Winter Park, Florida, with her husband, two sons, a couple of frisky felines and one Soggy Dog. Hence the name of her art studio, Soggy Dog Studios.
Check out the Soggy Dog Studios website for some of Kim’s most recent projects. There you can see some of her mural work that is gracing a lucky child’s walls. The blog-style website reveals more of Kim’s sweet, unique personality. Read some of her fun posts, quirky insights, and listen to her selection of songs that play while you browse. (My favorite is probably Jack Johnson’s rendition of “Imagine.”) You’ll see that heart is in everything that Kim does. Whether you have a child’s room to decorate or you want to awaken your own inner child, Kim’s art will bring a smile to your face and light up any room.
To learn more about Kim, please visit her personal Facebook page or the Soggy Dog Studios Facebook page. You can also purchase some of her art at her Etsy shop. After bidding on these items of course…
